The team burst out of the gate early, driving in 5 runs in the driving rain (see what I did there?) in the first inning, prior to a brief rain delay.
The sun came out after that to shine on a brilliant offensive performance.
Another matter entirely was Meaghan's 3 strikeout, 1 ground out performance, which has sparked a call for the firing of her hitting coach, Stumpy. When reached for comment, Stumpy replied "I had swimming!"
Meaghan has already replaced her hitting coach once this year, going through coaches the way Kardashians go through husbands. Midway through the first game of the year, after her first hitting coach, Jeremy, has pathetically put up only 2 singles, Meaghan ceremoniously fired him, replacing him with the better performing Stumpy. As you'll recall, Stumpy hit three doubles in the luckiest game of his brief softball career so far.
Keep an eye on this blog for up-to-the-whenever-I-feel-like-it updates on this developing situation.
Highlights included:
- Chris found a map to get off the pitcher's rubber and made several great fielding plays. He also went 4 for 4.
- A line up change proved our team performs better with a Peter in the two-hole.
- Mike returned from his European vacation to go 4 for 4 including two doubles.
Game MVP goes to Kate for going 4 for 4 with a walk, and destroying Stumpy's theory that the lead-off hitter can't get any RBIs, because she had 4 of them.
Best dressed award is again awarded to Jeremy, but there's a slight chance he may be taking this a bit too seriously.
The team's next game will be Thursday, June 7 at 4:30 on Kinsmen South versus the Isotopes. See you all there!!
Hey, I resent your comment. It's not my fault. BTW who is this stumpy guy? He sounds like a winner. Hey Stumpy wanna get married?
ReplyDeleteJeremy made some great catches in field too! Unlike somebody else who was in field and let-in a home-run (who shall remain nameless).
ReplyDeleteNice update. seeing if this works my post
